I am the maintainer of the tdfx(4) driver.

As part of the above work, I've been maintaining some patches to %%FreeBSD%% to fix some bugginess in the [[https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-compaq-6715b-notebook-pc/3368540|HP Compaq 6715b Notebook]] computer. I have some custom-rolled 7.0-RELEASE ISOs available here: https://people.freebsd.org/~cokane/iso-images/, as the default ISO kernel will not recognize the SATA HD on boot. You'll need to read the instructions on my page, however.
