It is regarded as "one of the most unusual hotels in the Ruhr area". The nine guest rooms and suites as well as two meeting and seminar rooms are equipped with extensive technical facilities to conduct meetings and seminars on the topics of Linux and free software. The hotel and seminar rooms and the surrounding park are networked via Ethernet and wireless LAN. During work days the Linuxhotel offers Linux and free software courses (e.g. %%FreeBSD%%, %%OpenBSD%%, pf, etc). The venue and surrounding area offers a lot of activities for partners and children, so consider bringing them along to spend the weekend there. ===== Logistics ===== The Linuxhotel is located in the city of Essen. The next airports are Düsseldorf (DUS), Köln/Bonn (CGN) and Dortmund (DTM). Frankfurt/Main (FRA) is also an option, although a bit further south. From there you can reach Essen by train.
