====== Acer Aspire V3-771G ====== ===== Hardware Overview ===== * CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz * Memory: 8GB (one slot free, so installed addional 8GB of memory) ===== Notes ===== * Running %%FreeBSD%% 11 * Suspends, but doesn't come up again anymore (using external USB drive) * Brightness keys work * Volume keys don't work * Other keys (disabling track pad, turning off monitor, etc. work) * MMC slot for SD cards doesn't seem to work * Intel graphics work with Intel driver, NVIDIA not tested * External display untested ===== Quirks ===== ==== Sound ==== There is something strange going on with the audio of this laptop. When rebooting the device from another operating system, then booting into %%FreeBSD%% the hardware doesn't appear to properly reset and audio might not work using headphones. This is 100% reproducible. Also reboots on Windows or Linux occasionally result in background noises. On those systems attached headphones and microphone occasionally are not recognized at boot. Though this might be a driver problem issues existing across operating systems and reboots this more likely appears to be a hardware issue. If you run into these issues shutdown your laptop (ie. halt -p, because just reboot WILL NOT fix the issue) and turn it on again after a few seconds. ===== Details ===== * {{laptops/acer_aspire_v3_771g/acpidump-dt.txt?linkonly|acpidump-dt.txt}} * {{laptops/acer_aspire_v3_771g/devinfo-v.txt?linkonly|devinfo-v.txt}} * {{laptops/acer_aspire_v3_771g/dmesg.txt?linkonly|dmesg.txt}} * {{laptops/acer_aspire_v3_771g/pciconf-l.txt?linkonly|pciconf-l.txt}} ---- {{tag>Laptop Mobile}}
