===== Server =====
The %%FreeBSD%% Project hosts a Matrix instance at ''%%matrix-dev.freebsd.org%%'' for project spaces and rooms.
**%%FreeBSD%% committers** can use it as their homeserver:
* use your freefall username (without the ''%%@freebsd.org%%'' suffix) and [[https://docs.freebsd.org/en/articles/committers-guide/#kerberos-ldap|kerberos password]] to login and gain an ''%%id:matrix-dev.freebsd.org%%'' identity
* when the beta ends, ''%%matrix-dev%%'' will be removed
**Other users** must choose an alternative homeserver. Servers with open registration:
* https://servers.joinmatrix.org/
===== Clients =====
**To reduce the risk of losing a key and becoming unable to decrypt history: verify at least two client connections.**
==== Element clients ====
Mobile, desktop, and Web: [[https://element.io/download|https://element.io/download]].
%%FreeBSD%% Project-hosted Element web: https://element-dev.freebsd.org/ – for ''%%matrix-dev.freebsd.org%%'' ID holders only.
