List of high-value, simple/accessible ways to contribute to FreeBSD

• Help others users / talk about FreeBSD online
  • IRC, FreeBSD Forums or FreeBSD Mailing Lists
  • Twitter (#freebsd), StackOverflow, etc

• Increase awareness of FreeBSD at your favourite upstream project(s)
  • Websites, documentation, README's
  • Add FreeBSD install instructions to documentation/README's
  • Add FreeBSD to the list of supported operating systems
  • Run software tests / test suites, report success/failures
• Write (blog) about what you do on or with FreeBSD

• Maintain an un-maintained port
  • PortsCheatSheet FreeBSD Ports: New Contributor 101 / Cheatsheet

• Improve FreeBSD Wiki content (Join #freebsd-wiki (ircs://chat.freenode.net/freebsd-wiki) on IRC)
  • Report incorrect or outdated content
  • Suggest additions, changes
  • Create a wiki account, ask a developer to add you to the contributor group
    • Add / change / fix / improve content yourself

• Analyse/Triage a Bug/Issue for a port/package you use. Examples:
  • Incorrectly categorized
  • Unclear summaries
  • Incorrectly assigned
  • CC relevant/appropriate people
