Issues of concern
- Commonly reported FreeBSD issues - a pretty thorough list, by my standards - I try to maintain this as best as I can
- ATA/SATA issues and troubleshooting methods - my work in progress, describing common problems haunting FreeBSD users with ATA/SATA disks
- ZFS disk upgrade gone bad - how FreeBSD, ZFS, and ata(4) all failed me in one way or another. Read this if you're interested in witnessing how one simple task (upgrading a working 500GB disk to a new 750GB one) ultimately resulted in frustration, anger, and complete disappointment.
- [[JeremyChadwick/ZFS_disk_upgrade_gone_bad_part_2|ZFS disk upgrade gone bad, part 2] - the saga continues, but this time with more successful results
HOWTOs
- Installing FreeBSD 7.x on a ZFS pool - how to do it all from the FreeBSD installer (well, most of it anyway)
- Setting up rrdbot on FreeBSD - getting familiar with the rrdbot SNMP poller
- Using dgamelaunch on FreeBSD - getting it to work, including some patches for FreeBSD
