TODO list
✘ = Not done, ✔ = Done
| Status | Task | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| ✘ | Move the [http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/contributors/index.html#DONORS donors gallery] from the contributors article to somewhere under [http://www.freebsd.org/donations/ donations] on the homepage. | |
| ✘ | Move teams, hats, developers and pretty much everything else from the [http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/contributors/index.html contributors article] to somewhere on the homepage. This stuff does not belong in an article. We could create a table with all this information and some additional interesting stuff, like pgp keys and where people live etc instead of spreading all this information everywhere on doc and www, which makes it a living hell to keep updated. [http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/roll-call/userinfo.xml Gentoo] has a good example of how this should look like. | |
| ✘ | Add more teams and hats to the soon-to-be-deleted contributors article. People seem to have problems with whom to contact when it comes to certain issues. Admins@ would be a first good candidate. | The removal of the contributors article needs to finish first. |
| ✘ | Unify all “status” entities. We should create general entities for status indicators instead of the current mess where every page defines their own entities. A good example is [http://www.freebsd.org/projects/busdma/ busdma] versus [http://www.freebsd.org/projects/dingo/ dingo]. | |
| ✘ | Rewrite the [http://www.freebsd.org/internal/ internal pages]. They suck. | Perhaps integrating this with the developers section? Nothing secret here anyway. Discussion is needed though, or else I'll probably get flamed just like the last time I tried to fix this crap. |
| ✘ | Rewrite the [http://www.freebsd.org/projects/ projects page]. It sucks x 1000. | |
| ✘ | Add entities for all hats. Keeping entities for all hats and committers will lower the amount of maintenance needed when people are punished with new hats and responsibilites. | |
| ✘ | Remove obsolete pgp keys from the handbook. | |
| ✘ | Remove the [http://www.freebsd.org/y2kbug.html y2k] page. It's clearly outdated (duh!) and even refers to dg as our “Principal Architect”. | |
| ✘ | The [http://www.freebsd.org/projects/busdma/ busdma project page] is outdated (well, it's always outdated since everytime I fix it some clever kernel hacker commits yet another driver to src). bfe(4) and bce(4) are missing right now, for example. Someone should go through all drivers and add the missing ones to the busdma page. Mark them with “Unkown” if no one cares to explain if they are MPSAFE or not. | |
| ✘ | Nvidia have set up a [http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=47 dedicated forum] for everything that concerns their graphics driver for FreeBSD. We should link to it, but where? | |
| ✘ | Remove obsolete pgp keys from the handbook. | |
| ✘ | Collect links to interesting sub-projects somewhere (like [http://people.freebsd.org/~bsd/prstats/ bsd@'s prstats], [http://people.freebsd.org/~lth/locations/ lth@'s maps] and [http://people.freebsd.org/~peter/commits.html peter@'s commit statistics]). | Will be committed to the projects page whenever I get the time to rewrite it. |
| ✘ | Collect links to interesting FreeBSD subdomains somewhere (like wiki.freebsd.org, perforce.freebsd.org, security.freebsd.org etc). | Will be committed to the projects page whenever I get the time to rewrite it. |
| ✘ | The hardware supported by the ata driver does not appear in our hardware notes due to the format of the HARDWARE section the ata manual page. We should fix this. | |
| ✘ | Rewrite the sound chapter in the handbook. |
