Graphics ==== /etc/rc.conf
kld_list="radeonkms"
For the graphics to work properly, I had to install the SCFB driver. GraphicsOld/SCFB :!: Below I will give a comparison of the incorrect operation of the graphics. | ✘ drm-kmod only | ✔ with SCFB | | | | ==== 2.3. Sound ==== There are two connectors on the laptop, as it always was before. One for headphones and one for microphone. I can not check the microphone, but the sound works fine. I looked at the sound devices and saw only one entry:
pcm0: <Analog Devices AD1981HD (Analog 2.0+HP/2.0)> (play/rec) default No devices installed from userspace.
But I didn't even need to switch the sound. After I plugged the headphones into the jack, the sound automatically began to go to the headphones. And after disconnecting, he himself switched to the front of the laptop. It's great :3 ==== 2.4. WiFi ==== In order to get the wireless card to work, I had to rebuild the kernel with the options listed here: bwn(4) and also install loadable modules: net/bwn-firmware-kmod My settings files contain the following: /boot/loader.conf
if_bwn_load="YES" bwn_v4_ucode_load="YES"
/etc/rc.conf
network_interfaces="AUTO" wpa_supplicant_enable="YES" wlans_bwn0="wlan0" ifconfig_wlan0="WPA SYNCDHCP"
After completing the settings, I rebooted the laptop and made sure that all modules were loaded: kldstat
Id Refs Address Size Name 1 62 0xffffffff80200000 214ad60 kernel 3 1 0xffffffff82399000 a158 cryptodev.ko 4 1 0xffffffff823a5000 5b93a0 zfs.ko 5 1 0xffffffff8295f000 2ce88 bwn_v4_ucode.ko 6 1 0xffffffff82d20000 153c80 radeonkms.ko 7 2 0xffffffff82e74000 739e0 drm.ko 8 3 0xffffffff82ee8000 5220 linuxkpi_gplv2.ko 9 4 0xffffffff82eee000 62d8 dmabuf.ko 10 1 0xffffffff82ef5000 c758 ttm.ko 11 1 0xffffffff82f02000 28d8 radeon_RS690_cp_bin.ko 12 1 0xffffffff82f05000 3378 acpi_wmi.ko 13 1 0xffffffff82f09000 3218 intpm.ko 14 1 0xffffffff82f0d000 2180 smbus.ko 15 1 0xffffffff82f10000 4d00 ng_ubt.ko 16 6 0xffffffff82f15000 aac8 netgraph.ko 17 2 0xffffffff82f20000 a238 ng_hci.ko 18 4 0xffffffff82f2b000 25a8 ng_bluetooth.ko 19 1 0xffffffff82f2e000 e250 ng_l2cap.ko 20 1 0xffffffff82f3d000 1bee8 ng_btsocket.ko 21 1 0xffffffff82f59000 39c0 ng_socket.ko
==== 2.5. Speaker ==== The sound console speaker works. If you install the beep package, you can see that sounds are produced. The output is combined with the common single sound output on the laptop. This is unfortunate, but I have not been able to get it to work the same way it does on the PC. It doesn't make any sound when I press backspace in any way. Also the output device in /dev/speaker plays silence. ==== 2.6. Fingerprint ==== The fingerprint scanner, after setting up, could not scan fingerprints, although the test programs worked. Also, after setting up, users did not have access to the device, despite the appropriate manipulations. It is likely that the device has been damaged or worn out from old hardware. ==== 2.7. Bluetooth ==== The device on the laptop is detected in the system, but does not connect to another bluetooth device. ==== 2.8. VGA External ==== It simply sends the same signal to both monitors. I tried to connect a second monitor to my laptop and realized that after running xorg I can't manage two monitors. On the laptop screen, I see the desktop, adjusted to the screen size of the external monitor, and everything is duplicated on it. I couldn't get control of them. And in the console, before xorg was launched, they were simply duplicated without changing the screen size. ==== 2.9. Suspend / Resume ==== The laptop successfully goes into sleep mode (suspend, S3). And successfully restored from it with the power button, saving the session. ==== 2.10. Battery ==== My battery doesn't seem to be working.
hw.acpi.battery.info_expire: 5 hw.acpi.battery.units: 2 hw.acpi.battery.state: 0 hw.acpi.battery.rate: 0 hw.acpi.battery.time: -1 hw.acpi.battery.life: 100

acpiconf -i0 Design capacity: 1 mAh Last full capacity: 1 mAh Technology: secondary (rechargeable) Design voltage: 10800 mV Capacity (warn): 1 mAh Capacity (low): 1 mAh Low/warn granularity: 100 mAh Warn/full granularity: 100 mAh Model number: Primary Serial number: 45335 2006/12/03 Type: LIon OEM info: Hewlett-Packard State: high Remaining capacity: 100% Remaining time: unknown Present rate: 0 mA (0 mW) Present voltage: 12092 mV

acpiconf -i1 Design capacity: 0 mWh Last full capacity: 0 mWh Technology: primary (non-rechargeable) Design voltage: 0 mV Capacity (warn): 0 mWh Capacity (low): 0 mWh Cycle Count: 0 Mesurement Accuracy: 0 % Max Sampling Time: 0 ms Min Sampling Time: 0 ms Max Average Interval: 0 ms Min Average Interval: 0 ms Low/warn granularity: 0 mWh Warn/full granularity: 0 mWh Model number: Serial number: Type: OEM info: State: not present Present voltage: unknown
---- ✔ OK :?: Somewhat OK: requires additional tweaking or works worse than expected :!: Present but status unknown or untested ✘ Does not work nothing Not sure if present ---- laptops/hp_compaq_6715b.txt Last modified: 2023/02/16 16:23by Clockwork
