Currently using, learning and trying to help with [http://people.freebsd.org/~harti/bsnmp/ BSNMPD] development, in contact with ShteryanaShopova, HartiBrandt and VictorCruceru.

DISKSTORAGE-MIB should provide information with greater detail than what is available through [http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2790.txt HOSTRESOURCES-MIB], specifically to UNIX environments (perhaps BSD or even FreeBSD specific). It was not created yet, btw.

More details to come, and also at proposta.txt], which is my original (and not selected) proposal for Google's Summer of Code 2006.

[http://rnsanchez.wait4.org/FreeBSD/bsnmpd/fix_some_segfaults.diff contrib/bsnmp/gensnmpdef] (2006-05-30)	Fix some segfaults that occur when a required module is not found while processing user-requested modules. Others segfaults remain, as libsmi sometimes does not return NULL when some required module was not found. Perhaps a complete fix depends on a libsmi fix too.

These are topics I plan to investigate:

BSD-licensed ELF tools: because of my final project, I'm getting very used to ELF files, and feel able to help implement BSD-licensed tools for ELF files, like readelf, (multi-archicteture capable) objdump, and much others, using JosephKoshy's libelf.
CPU accounting and top(1) + ps(1): I can't find what processes are eating CPU, and don't understand why (UP machine with UP kernel).
re(4): my RTL8029S giga-ethernet NIC doesn't work on 6.1-RELEASE. There were lots of commits for it, but I couldn't test it yet, and if I try to use it, sometimes it doesn't work. 6.1 is “old” right now, but…
