The FreeBSD Project is pleased to participate in the Google Summer of Code 2022 program with seven projects this year.

2022 Timeline:
- April 4 - April 19: Contributor application period open
- May 20: Successful applications announced
- May 20 - June 12: Community bonding starts
- June 13 - August 16: Coding
- July 25 - July 29: Mid-term Evaluations
- September 12 - September 19: Students Submit Code and Final Evaluations
- September 20: Results announced

FreeBSD maintains a page containing project ideas suitable for Summer of Code at Summer of Code Ideas, and a more generic Ideas page. Students are welcome to take on projects from that page, or produce their own project ideas and plans.
