Wacom Tablets under FreeBSD

  • /usr/ports/multimedia/webcamd (v3.9.0.5 or newer)
  • /usr/ports/x11-drivers/xf86-input-wacom
  • /usr/ports/x11-servers/xorg-server (need HAL support)
    • Note: DEVD option must be enabled (not UDEV, the default)

In /boot/loader.conf, make sure you have:

cuse4bsd_load="YES"

In /etc/rc.conf, make sure you have:

devd_enable="YES"
hald_enable="YES"
webcamd_enable="YES"

Interaction between webcamd and HAL will ensure that Xorg automatically attaches/detaches the wacom driver to all connected devices. No wacom configuration is needed in /etc/X11/xorg.conf nor /etc/rc.conf .
