IBSS/adhoc and 802.11s have not been tested. ===== Features ===== The following features have been actively tested and used by the developers (this list isn't exhaustive): * 802.11n STA and hostap operation * 802.11n 1, 2, 3 stream devices * 1, 2, 3 stream STBC RX/TX negotiation (space-time block coding) * MIMO powersave negotiation * 11g/11ng coexistence * 11a/11na coexistence * HT/20 and HT/40 channel support, along with 20/40MHz STA coexistence The following 802.11n features would be nice in the short term: * 802.11n LDPC encoding * 802.11n DFS support - the current support only functions with 802.11a channels * 802.11n rate control/selection in net80211 - currently, the rate control modules in net80211 only know about legacy rates ===== Chipset Support ===== Some of the wireless drivers support 802.11n. The following is an incomplete list. * iwn (Intel) NICs - 4965, perhaps others; STA mode only * ath 11n series NICs (AR5416, AR9130, AR9160, AR9280, AR9285, AR9287, AR94xx, AR95xx) - STA/AP mode, TX and RX aggregation * mwl NICs (88W8363 802.11n NIC) * rsu (RTL8188SU / RTL81892SU) * urtwn (RTL8188CU / RTL8188RU / RTL8188EU / RTL8192CU) wifi/80211n.txt Last modified: 2018/04/05 23:13by MateuszPiotrowski
