• April 22: Community bonding starts

• June 20-June 27: Mid-term Evaluations
• August 9: End of coding (soft)
• August 15 19:00 UTC: End of coding (hard)
• August 15-August 23: Final Evaluations; students submit code to Google.

FreeBSD maintains a page containing project ideas suitable for Summer of Code at Summer of Code Ideas, and a more generic Ideas page. Students are welcome to take on projects from that page, or produce their own project ideas and plans.
