FreeBSD Google Summer of Code

Google Summer of Code or GSoC is an annual event sponsored by Google, Inc. It enables contributors to spend their summer contributing to open source software projects. FreeBSD has been a participating organization every year since 2005. People can apply to work on a full-time FreeBSD project from 12 to 22 weeks with the aid of one or more FreeBSD mentors.

• Read FreeBSD-specific guidance for GSoC.
• Read the GSoC guide for students to understand the stages of the program.
• Stay on top of the timeline.
• Start thinking about project ideas. You can get inspiration from the FreeBSD Project Ideas List.
• Ask questions by contacting us in the FreeBSD Summer of Code IRC Channel, posting to the hackers mailing list, or mailing soc-admins@FreeBSD.org.
